2026
2026
In a context marked by increasing political persecution, the criminalization of migrant communities, and the rise of xenophobic and authoritarian rhetoric, Alianza Americas is convening its membership for the 2026 Leadership Assembly under the theme Our Roots, Our Future.
The Leadership Assembly is the most important gathering of our national network of migrant-led organizations. This year, we reaffirm our commitment to building power from within our communities, honoring our identities, and strengthening a transnational vision that connects local struggles to the challenges and transformations taking place across the Americas.
A Regional Gathering to Strengthen Collective Power
In response to the current climate of immigration persecution and surveillance targeting our communities, the 2026 Assembly will take place through a series of regional gatherings in different cities across the country. This format will allow us to connect more closely with the territories where our member organizations live and work, strengthen relationships, expand the exchange of knowledge, and deepen our collective work.
Dates and Locations

Each gathering will bring together migrant leaders to discuss the challenges facing our communities, share organizing strategies, and build collective responses grounded in justice, dignity, and transnational solidarity.
Honoring Our Roots to Build the Future
Our Roots, Our Future calls on us to uplift the memory of our ancestors, cultures, traditions, and histories of resistance. It is also an invitation to imagine the future we want to build from within our communities by strengthening political education, collective care, and our network's organizing capacity.
Through popular education methodologies, political analysis spaces, and collective strategy-building processes, participating organizations will:
A Space to Learn, Celebrate, and Build Together
The Assembly will combine spaces for political analysis, training, and strategic planning with moments of community gathering and cultural celebration. Throughout the gatherings, participating organizations will develop tools to strengthen their community work, deepen their understanding of racial, economic, and gender inequities, and build collective strategies to confront current challenges.
There will also be opportunities to share food, traditions, and cultural expressions that reflect the diversity and richness of our communities.
