Lariza Dugan-Cuadra, is the Executive Director of the Central American Resource Center CARECEN of Northern California, along her team she works to advance and build long-term sustainability for their social service programs; advocacy efforts locally, nationally and transnationally; and to engage the broader community they represent and allies in the on-going work for social justice. Prior to joining CARECEN, she worked at the San Francisco Mayor’s Office of Housing and Community Development, managing public service grants and community building initiatives. Most recently, she served as Community Counsel Member, then as Community Co-Chair of UCSF’s University Community Partnerships Counsel. She earned a B.A. in Humanities with emphasis in Community Development, a Minor in La Raza Studies; and Early Childhood Education certification. She attended City College of San Francisco, San Francisco State University and New College of California.
