Experts discuss Costa Rica’s current challenges and explore solutions

WHAT: As part of the ongoing series “A Prosperous Future is Possible: Critical Conversations About Mexico and Central America,” Alianza Americas and Presente.org will host a live virtual conversation, this time focused on Costa Rica, this Wednesday, September 1. The conversation will feature civil society leaders and experts based in Costa Rica who will discuss factors in Costa Rica’s contemporary history that place it on such a different playing field from other Central American countries. Panelists will also examine whether Costa Rica is in a moment of  strength or vulnerability and the nation’s financial health. Throughout the series, panelists have been discussing and exploring structural solutions to problems such as poverty, corruption, the climate crisis, and existing anti-democratic and authoritarian practices. It’s imperative that the voices of Latin American leaders from the region working on an array of issues share their perspectives and solutions.
