Experts discuss El Salvador’s current challenges and explore solutions
WHAT: As part of the ongoing series “A Prosperous Future is Possible: Critical Conversations About Mexico and Central America,” Alianza Americas and Presente.org will host a live virtual conversation, this time focused on El Salvador, this Wednesday, August 25. The conversation will feature civil society leaders and experts based in El Salvador who will discuss issues including democratic deterioration, the climate crisis, public finances, including the nation’s recent move to make Bitcoin legal tender, and tax reform. Throughout the series, panelists will discuss and explore structural solutions to problems such as poverty, corruption, the climate crisis, and existing anti-democratic and authoritarian practices. It’s imperative that the voices of Latin American leaders from the region working on an array of issues share their perspectives and solutions.
