WHAT: As part of the ongoing series “A Prosperous Future is Possible: Conversations About Mexico and Central America,” Alianza Americas and Presente.org will host a live conversation, this time focused on Honduras, this Wednesday, August 18. The conversation will feature civil society leaders and experts based in Honduras who will discuss topics including alternative economic models that break the cycle of inequality, land defense against extractive projects and the Zone for Employment and Economic Development (ZEDES), the rule of law, and the 2021 elections. Throughout the series, panelists will discuss and explore structural solutions to problems such as poverty, corruption, the climate crisis, and existing anti-democratic and authoritarian practices.
