Every two years, Alianza Americas hosts its National Leadership Assembly. The event brings together Latino and Caribbean immigrants from across the United States to address the issues facing our communities in the country and in our places of origin. It is a unique forum where Alianza members can share experiences, learn about organizational improvements, and analyze challenges and define opportunities for collaboration.
The most recent Leadership Assembly was held in November 2018, in Washington, D.C., under the motto “Resist, connect and transform”. The event was marked by the midterm elections in the U.S. and by the exodus of thousands of Central American families. You can learn more details here.
During its off year, the national team of Alianza Americas mobilizes throughout the country to promote a series of consultations: exchange visits with member organizations throughout the country. These are a space to reflect, analyze and identify challenges and visualize how to transform opportunities into action. Contributions from our membership help us strengthen our work plan and make adjustments as necessary.
In 2019, the consultations reached Illinois, Florida, New York, and Minnesota, Massachusetts and plans to visit California.
