Urge White House to Take Leadership on Protecting Central American Refugees
Alianza Americas is calling on individuals, faith based communities, and organizations across the country to participate in an urgent call-in effort calling President Obama to turn away from his second round of raids intended to capture and deport children and families seeking refuge from violence and insecurity in Central America. Reports surfaced on May 12, 2016 about a second round of raids and deportations by the Department of Homeland. The targets of these raids are Honduran, Guatemalan and Salvadoran children and adults with orders of deportation. These children and adults arrived to the U.S. in the context of a still unfolding humanitarian crisis affecting hundreds of thousands of people in these countries as a result of unprecedented levels of violence, insecurity and a systemic lack of opportunity for people to live dignified lives. Many were issued orders of deportation without ever having legal representation.

@WhiteHouse @POTUS direct @DHSgov NOT to raid and deport Central American children and families #protectionnotdeportation
Hello I am calling to ask President Obama to direct the Department of Homeland Security NOT to move forward with raids and deportations of Central American children and families fleeing violence. Children and families fleeing for their lives must be protected and supported, not deported to imminent threat of harm or death.
